Offshore Facility Decommissioning Liability
BSEE and BOEM decommissioning liability, indemnity, and plugging-and-abandonment work.
The firm represents federal oil and gas lease operators with respect to their offshore facility decommissioning liability under the Code of Federal Regulations. This representation includes analysis of indemnity rights in purchase and sale agreements, negotiating with other predecessors in title regarding contribution, and liaison or even litigation with BSEE and BOEM. When liability is established, the firm represents operators in contracting to perform the decommissioning of platforms and pipelines, including plugging and abandoning dormant wells.
